Best folks I have ever worked with—ever, of any type. I will never again use anyone other than Highland for anything related to my house.
Smart, cooperative, interesting, talented artists. With great subcontractors—and all working as a team. I would be happy to speak with anyone who is considering Highland.

Meet the Team

  • Dave Salla

    Principal

As a founding member of the company, Dave sought to build on a rich family history in the construction industry. Dave thrives on serving and collaborating with his clients to create remarkable home renovation solutions. His unparalleled attention to detail and thorough approach sets him apart as a true partner in the process. He enjoys everything about the outdoors, especially camping or the beach, and loves spending time with his family and friends.

  • Thom Mandell

    Principal

Thom joined Dave in the first months of Highland Renovations after coming from the National Institute Of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). An original native of Louisiana, he has lived all along the eastern part of the US, including West Virginia, Northern Virginia, and as far north as Boston. With a strong background in design and sculpture, Thom brings extraordinary design and creative solutions to his projects. Thom enjoys the outdoors and creating new things in his home studio. Family and friends are also very important to him, including his wife and two children.

  • Karen Winger

    Office Manager

Karen has been an integral member of the Highland Renovations team since 2014, bringing a positive and joyful atmosphere with her. In addition to ensuring great customer experience through communications with each and every client, she also manages all relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Managing the day-to-day of our busy firm has helped us continue to grow over the years. Karen enjoys sewing and crafting as her hobbies.

  • Marty Roehrig

    Field Supervisor

For over a decade, Marty has been part of the Highland Renovations team. His quick thinking and attention to detail quickly elevated him from Carpenter to Field Supervisor. As a previous owner of a construction company, Marty’s experience has allowed him to effectively manage the skilled teams building out your dream project. Marty enjoys time with his family, the beach, and is a grandfather of five.

  • Adam Callaway

    Operations Manager

Adam was introduced to the Highland Renovations team after they completed an amazing kitchen renovation for some friends of his. Impressed by the company’s top down approach to quality and craftsmanship, Adam began doing some part time work with the team before accepting an opportunity to join the company full time as Operations Manager in December 2023. With a passion for, and experience in, project management, budgeting, and client servicing, Adam works hand-in-hand with both the field staff and the management team to deliver above and beyond results no matter the size of the scope of work. From contract execution through final walk through, Adam energetically keeps our customers informed on the project at hand. A life-long Marylander, Adam grew up in Damascus and has lived in Towson since 2007 - spending 10 years in Rodgers Forge before moving to West Towson. When not hustling for Highland, you can find Adam spending time with his family, rooting hard for the Terps, Ravens, and Orioles, hanging with his dog Chewie, or squeezing in a run or bike ride.
